Description
The educational interest of the Suites for the cello by Jean-Sébastien Bach transcribed for the bass clarinet is threefold:
I. All levels of technical difficulty are encountered in these pages, from the Sarabande, the fifth Suite to the Prelude of the sixth.
II. The range of the bass clarinet corresponds to the range of the cello. There is no problem with the transcription of monophonic parts; the pitch is always respected.
III. One cannot remain indifferent to the Cantor's music and one cannot play coldly a work that is one of the foundations of classical music.
