Description
This work, written between 1922 and 1925, belongs to Borys Lyatoshynsky's early period. It is music full of poetry and hope, a constant exaltation of utopian beauty. The structure remains fairly classical, but the harmonic progression is radically different, based primarily on constant transpositions.
The melodic lines, rich in rhythm and with intonations that transcend registers, create a symphony of intricate textures. The highly virtuosic instrumental writing perfectly serves this music. Like his First Symphony, this work demonstrates perfect mastery and maturity.
