Description
Clarissimo, Latin 'clarinet ballad' is a collection of original compositions featuring a wide range of rhythms from traditional and popular Latin American and Caribbean music. Whether from the altiplano (Huayno from Peru, Takirari from Bolivia), the Pacific or Atlantic coasts (Cumbia from Colombia, Milonga from Argentina), or the Caribbean islands (Bolero from Cuba, Reggae from Jamaica), these musics with their swaying rhythms and colorful melodies offer many educational benefits.
First of all, this music of oral tradition invites musicians (teacher and student) to appropriate it by memorizing it through listening to the CD (active listening, singing the melody, etc.). The implementation can then be worked on by playing, with or without score, on the playback tape. There are some differences in articulation between the interpretation of the CD and the score. This is due to the specific character of this music.
In this third volume, we will encounter more complex melodies based on typical Latin American rhythms (syncopations, measures with staggered supports, irregular measures). To interpret them correctly, the student must have a solid and stable internal pulse and to do this he can, for example, prepare himself rhythmically in the following way: pulse distributed alternately in the 2 feet while striking the indicated rhythms in the hands. The proposed articulations are given for information purposes only.
We can develop the exercise by playing sequences of the theme on the clarinet while keeping the pulse with the feet (first slowly then at speed).
In this regard, playback provides an extremely precise rhythmic indicator of the specificity of each piece.
Have a good trip !
