Description

Sébastien Paindestre is an internationally acclaimed, veteran French jazz pianist and composer. He has just recorded his third album in New York and is performing his compositions with the band Atlantico at the famous Blue Note jazz club in New York. He has notably revisited the repertoire of the English band Radiohead with his own jazz ensemble, the "Amnesiac Quartet," with whom he has toured France on the biggest stages...

In 2012 he met Radiohead and Thom Yorke at Bercy and released the second album “tribute to Radiohead vol.2” in 2013.

He collaborates and performs with numerous international jazz musicians and contemporary music composers such as Jacques Lejeune (GRM) and writes music for cinema for unreleased films by Georges Méliès (Studio Canal).

Sébastien Paindestre offers a collection of 24 pieces from beginner to 2nd year in a Jazz Pop aesthetic made of tributes to the "heroes" of pop and jazz such as Herbie Hancock, Robert Wyatt, Boris Vian or Radiohead and imbued with the New York sound.

These 24 pieces were designed with pedagogical concerns in mind, with different progressive difficulties in learning and acquisition encountered by students. The piano accompaniment was written to be played by pianist students from the middle to the end of the first cycle. The collection is accompanied by examples and playbacks for each piece, downloadable from the Billaudot Editions education area.
