Description
Saxiana Paris is a musical postcard from the early 20th century. Six pieces are presented in a version ideally suited for alto saxophone. As composers such as Bizet, Delibes, Massenet, Dukas, Franck, and Ravel intended, who used a lyrical saxophone in their original orchestrations, the saxophone flourishes wonderfully in these admirable pieces, sometimes bucolic, dramatic, anguished, or even crystalline, but always with a concern for expressiveness and poetry.
