---

Composed in spring 2020, the piece describes a relentless ascent taking place in two stages.

Each of these two parts is similar to a form of ritual in which various melodic motifs seem to be superimposed on an almost percussive rhythmic base. All these elements unfold in a particular register, with their own modality and their own melodic contours, hence a polyphonic conception of instrumental writing that also characterized some of my previous pieces such as Nun Komm for violin or Cantus I for cello.

Stubborn rhythms, melodic abundance, multiple incantations, this hymn to nature, after having led its process of development to its summit, seems to return, at the moment of conclusion, to the starting point as in an eternal recommencement.
