Description

Andante et allegro for clarinet and piano is a non-opus work by Ernest Chausson, completed on April 28, 1881. There is no record that the two-movement piece was performed during the composer's lifetime. The score was first published in 1977 by Billaudot after being rediscovered by clarinetist and collection director Robert Fontaine at the BnF. Despite its late discovery, this piece is now part of the French chamber music repertoire for clarinet and has been recorded numerous times.
