"These three dances for piano (lively-slow-lively) integrate many different elements: the first, R.Dance (R as in Rameau) is intended as a modern echo of 18th century harpsichord writing with its nervous ornaments, its voluble and light discourse but confronted with elements of jazz and even accents of electric bass.
The second S.Dance (S for Slow) begins as a slow and capricious minuet which gradually comes alive in a romantic vertigo before sinking into a misty dreamlike world where the rhythms seem to dissolve into eternity.
Finally, the FK dance (FK is both a reference to Funk and a secret dedication) uses an eight-note theme that will be developed in a very virtuoso wild movement where we find snatches of boogie, funky ostinatos and a rhythmic trance that gradually disintegrates the main theme until the last chords.
