La java de Gigi
This piece is a rather slow waltz, to be played with the specific character of the java typical of the Musette repertoire. The java is generally played on the accordion, but the marimba's timbre allows this music to sound different. I would like the performers' playing to be guided by great flexibility, in order to give it the greatest possible fluidity.
The marimba 2 part requires the use of a 5-octave marimba and the marimba 1 part can be played on the vibraphone.
