Description
Its title attests to its vocation: Encore is the term most commonly used in the world to designate what we call encores. And it is because Jérôme Pernoo and I were seeking to expand our repertoire of encores that I one day presented him with this piece, composed resolutely with this in mind. Respecting the specifications of virtuosity pieces, I sought to highlight, without sparing the cellist, two of the most essential facets of his instrument: agility and the ability to sing.
Fingering: Jérôme Pernoo.
Premiere on June 5, 2000 in East London (South Africa), by Jérôme Pernoo (cello) and Jérôme Ducros (piano).
