L'âme des feuillages

Intended for the 2015 Antony International Guitar Competition, the piece exploits different aspects of instrumental writing: differentiation of sound planes; expressive melodic phrasing — often in high positions; odd rhythms — often in ostinato; search for sonorities — with a wide use of harmonic sounds; chords with rare colors — thanks to the B to Bb scordatura.
However, the essence lies in the poetic, sometimes almost impressionistic, atmosphere, and the variations in nuances, vibrations, and luminosity which, as the title indicates, encourage the performer to establish a link with the living elements of nature.
