Description

La Touche “noir” is a cycle of four pieces for piano composed in 2012 and freely inspired by the lithographs, also called “noirs” by the artist Odilon Redon (1840 - 1916).

The music on these pages, with their varied aesthetics, is intended as an evocative expression of the painter's universe and the very particular atmosphere of his works. The piano writing develops a work on sound through resonance, the varied use of pedals and a certain idea of stroke, line and thickness. The title of each of the pieces is borrowed from Redon's lithographs.
