Latin Spirit

Latin Play and Montuno are compositions inspired by Latin American music. Each piece has three levels of increasing difficulty, designed to help students progress through the discovery of the different rhythms and phrasings specific to this music. The different levels are independent and cannot be superimposed.

Since this music is of oral tradition, I strongly encourage the student to regularly listen to the audio example (reading the score) before playing. Paying particular attention to phrasing, articulations, and rhythmic placement. Once the score is mastered, play along with the playback track. And finally, try by heart!

It is with great enthusiasm that I composed these pieces, I hope that they will be a source of pleasure and motivation for clarinettists young and old.
