To Come Out into the Day is the original name of the Book of the Dead of ancient Egypt. These papyrus scrolls were placed near the mummy to help him succeed in his journey to the afterlife and access the light of Osiris. This work consisted of a series of prayers, magic formulas to open doors, invocations, and fabulous stories in the service of the dead. For to experience this second birth and see the clarity of the Justified, a series of trials awaited the deceased. It is this spiritual journey that my Concerto evokes, a journey of shadow and light to the land of Amenti, the paradise of the ancient Egyptians.
