Description
This method is intended for the first years of practicing four-stick playing. It is presented in four parts, each of progressive and complementary levels and difficulty.
Each of them contains exercises, some of which are based on basic concepts while others call upon more complex concepts essential to learning to play with four sticks. They allow you to gradually acquire the necessary means to become independent.
The pieces offered respond to graduated levels of difficulty and will introduce the student to a wide range of music and styles in order to develop their ear, technique, sound, sense of phrasing as well as their musical personality.
It is intentionally that no indications of how to hold the sticks (grip) are given, thus leaving the choice free to the student and the teacher according to the wishes and preferences of each.
The fingerings indicated in this method are usual.
Finally, most of the pieces can be played independently on the marimba or the vibraphone. However, some are more suitable for one than the other; these specificities are mentioned in the method when important.
