Description
Rhizome: a perennial underground stem emitting roots and aerial stems. Perennial music, emanating from a single root, to extend in multiple horizontal or vertical directions. Starting from E-flat, the reference note of the transposing alto saxophone and in homage to Glazunov's concerto, the rhizome multiplies first towards the peripheral notes E and D to finally reach the entire spectrum of the saxophone. This version for alto saxophone and piano is an adaptation of the original version for alto saxophone and string ensemble. Vincent David
