Description
Vitality, Expression, Inventiveness, Energy are the terms that best define this new volume of Saxiana . Always with the objective of developing the repertoire for saxophone, eight original compositions are proposed here in the form of musical studies for students of an intermediate level (from the second part of cycle 2 of studies).
Eight composers for eight languages which will develop in the young musician:
- the creative sense with What I Did Over Summer Vacation by American composer Lisa Bielawa,
- the playful and fanciful spirit with Click Time by Jean-Baptiste Robin and Sans peur et sans faute by Jean-Denis Michat,
- the rhythmic and whimsical momentum with Papa Westray by the Dutchman Arnold Marinissen,
- the jazzy and bluesy wink with Yellow Blues by Michael Alizon and On Line by Franck Tortiller,
- theatrical expressiveness with the monologue I am by Benoît Menut,
- the virtuoso art of “French-style” phrasing with Un serpent qui danse by Karol Beffa.
The pleasure is there for these pieces which go beyond the educational framework and become true concert miniatures.
